Director Catherine Hardwicke to Pen Twilight Book

Catherine Hardwicke has written a book detailing how she directed the phenomenally successful teen vampire romance Twilight.

Hardwicke, 53, directed Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and others in the Twilight but was abruptly ousted after fledgling studio Summit Entertainment chose another director for the franchise's two upcoming sequels.

In December 2008, Chris Weitz—who directed the 2007 fantasy epic The Golden Compass—was tapped to replace Hardwicke to helm Twi sequel New Moon, which is due out Nov. 20.
